Wanderlust accepts both insurance and private pay clients.
We believe in being upfront about costs, because your mental health care shouldn’t come with hidden fees or financial confusion. Below you’ll find a breakdown of our current rates and policies. Wanderlust Psychiatry uses Headway to manage insurance, billing, and administration. Please follow the link below to set up your account with Headway if you choose to use insurance. The Headway team will reach out with an email to help you set up your account and add your insurance and payment details. You will be asked to verify your email, insurance, and form of payment, as well as sign Headway’s privacy and consent forms. Set up your Headway account here, verify your insurance, add a payment method, and be able to see your session cost in advance. Verification usually takes 3–5 days.
Working With
If you’ve ever felt stuck trying to find an in-network psychiatrist, you’re not alone. Long waitlists, limited availability, and rushed appointments are common barriers that leave many people feeling unseen and unsupported.
Working with an out-of-network provider can give you faster access to personalized care and still partially covered by your insurance.
We can provide you a superbill —a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance (check out our FAQs). Depending on your plan, you could be reimbursed 60–80% of the cost, especially after your deductible is met.

We offer consistent flat-rate pricing. Many clients choose private pay for increased individual care, time, privacy, medication flexibility and prompt access to medication follow-up. We build care plans around your health priorities and goals—not your insurance company’s restrictions.
If your insurance company is not listed in the Insurance section, a portion of your cost may still be covered. We can bill your insurance as an out-of-network provider, or you may submit a receipt (known as a Superbill) to your insurance for reimbursement. Many of our clients receive 60–80% reimbursement after submitting a ‘superbill’ to their insurance company. Deciding not to use insurance also has some benefits, such as liberty to choose medication options as we see fit, without the oversight and restrictions. Clients are responsible for any costs not covered by insurance. We also accept clients who are not using insurance at all.
